Quick Film Notes to Self

I have to put these things into a blog so i can access them from anywhere and not worry about which computer i'm on.

- new samurai film looks incred: HISSHIKEN TORISASHI
- Miyazaki's NAUSICAA coming to blu-ray this year
- the Japanese KILL BILL blu-rays have tons of extra footage not avail in the US
- high-art anime YOJOU-HAN SHINWA TAIKEI
- Park Chan-wook's THIRST box set (DVD, Korea) will include a director's cut

Watching this week:

- Isao Takahata's (Grave of the Fireflies) The Adventure of Hols
- Vertical Ray of the Sun

The Scent of Green Papaya. gosh. wow. 100% my kind of film.

New GORILLAZ promo vid. While i'm not the world's biggest fan of the music, i'm positively a follower of Australian-born Jamie Hewlett's character style ever since i was turned on to him in 1993. it's been fun watching him evolve from comic books into the digital/3D format.
